James H. Sweeney, Managing Partner

Mr. Sweeney has over 22 years prior executive and management experience in the energy industry with over 34 years of overall industry experience, which has been focused on wholesale energy and gas markets domestically and internationally.

Mr. Sweeney has acquired, divested or developed over $10 billion dollars of energy assets. Mr. Sweeney has experience in energy trading and management, origination, structuring deals, operational and asset management, development in both power and gas assets, along with 10 years of international experience where he acquired and developed power and gas assets in Latin America and served on several international Boards.

Mr. Sweeney was most recently a Principal Owner as well as Executive Vice President and COO of Navasota Clean Energy LLC where he was responsible for energy M&A, business development, energy management and overall company operations.

Prior to that Mr. Sweeney was Executive Vice President, Energy Management and a founder for KGen Power Management. Mr. Sweeney was with KGen since its formation in June 2004. Prior to joining KGen, Mr. Sweeney was employed by American Electric Power as Vice President M&A and Divestitures from 2002 to 2004, and as Vice President Latin America from 1998 to 2002. From 1987 to 1998, Mr. Sweeney held various senior positions at LG&E Energy (formerly Hadson & Ultrasystems) including Vice President Latin American Development. From 1979 – 1987 Mr. Sweeney held various positions at General Electric. Mr. Sweeney holds a BS in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an ME in power systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. Sweeney is also an owner of Rising Star Oil & Gas LP and Muskie O&G Partners LP, a small oil & gas production company and lease holder of assets in west Texas.
